OUR VISION
To be the nation’s leading public academic health system and best place to work, while transforming patient care, research, education and engagement with the diverse communities we serve.
We have so much to celebrate from the 2022-2023 academic year, and the world noticed:
- For the first time in the history of the school, the research portfolio grew by 27% percent: from $226 million to $287 million.
- The Paul and Diane Manning Institute of Biotechnology will be transformational for UVA by positioning us as a hub for biotech research, and should break ground by year’s end.
- For the tenth consecutive year, our Graduate Medical Education program was re-accredited by the ACGME without a single citation.
- UVA medical center was ranked by Newsweek as No. 1 in Virginia and No. 42 in the U.S.
