Associate Professor Jaeger retires

Dr. Jaeger retires June 12, 2020. Dr. Jaeger was a dedicated, respected and valued member of the UVA Department of Anesthesiology for over 31 years. He received many awards including the prestigious Dean’s Master Clinician award, the Dean’s Award for Clinical Excellence and two Anesthesiology Faculty Teaching awards. His contributions as a clinician educator in anesthesiology and critical care has had a lasting influence on hundreds of trainees. His administrative role as Associate Chief Medical Officer for Critical Care Medicine has had a tremendous impact on the quality of patient care at the University. Dr. Jaeger will be missed as a “legendary clinician who was widely recognized throughout the medical center not only for the medical care his patients received, but also to the many ways he contributed though his administrative leadership. Many said he was certainly one of the most outstanding, hard-working clinicians I’ve had the  privilege to know. His sense of dedication and work-ethic is truly of the highest order.”
