Hobbies/Outside Interests: I enjoy hot yoga, pilates, spinning (I was a certified instructor in college!), embroidery, baking, live music (concerts, festivals, all genres-you name it), being a go-to for food and drink recs, hanging out with my cat Ori, bonfires and/or beach days with pals!
Things you look forward to doing in Charlottesville: I look forward to exploring the amazing culinary scene, finding my new favorite winery, and being more in touch with nature (my boyfriend is an avid kayaker and extremely excited to kyak the river together ASAP).
Why did you choose UVA? UVA struck me as a thoughtful and caring program from the start. The level of detail in which my interviewers knew me and my application was apparent, making me confident they truly wanted to understand and support me. As a reapplicant (I did 2 years of surgery residency prior to switching to anesthesiology), that meant a lot. A commitment to resident education, the wide scope and breadth of training, and happy residents sealed the deal.
Anesthesiology Interests: As of now, I’m interested in critical care; however, I am entering residency open-minded and excited to see where the training takes me.
Favorite Rotation: Given we haven’t started yet, TBD! However, I love the variety of patients and pathologies you experience in the day-to-day as a generalist. My only off-service rotation as a surgery resident was 1 month of anesthesiology, and this definitely helped me realize that anesthesiology was a better fit for me.
