Alex T. St. Louis, PhD

Alex T. St. Louis, Ph.D joined the UVA Department of Anesthesiology as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology on July 13, 2026. As a science education professional, she has expertise in science teaching, practice, and mentorship to assist faculty, fellows, residents, and students in engaging and strengthening education-based research. She loves thinking about the nature of science and how individuals engage with the discipline to answer important questions. She received her Ph.D. in Science Education from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, in addition to degrees in Molecular and Cell Biology from Southern Methodist University and Biology from Baylor University. She resides in Charlottesville with her husband, Dr. Blake St. Louis, and corgi, Clove.
