The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Virginia invites motivated clinician-investigators to apply for the Harold Carron Professorship. This professorship carries significant support for the holder’s research. Our academic department is very dynamic and provides an excellent environment for performing scientific investigation. The University of Virginia is a top-ranked research university. Its medical school and health system have state-of-the-art core facilities to facilitate medical and biological research. The successful applicant must be an ABA-certified anesthesiologist with an excellent track record in scholarly activity and awarded extramural funding. The qualifications and achievement of the applicant should meet the established criteria for the rank of tenured associate professor or above at the University. The research field of the applicant is preferred to be neuroscience but other research interests will also be vigorously considered. He/she shall be able to lead a research team but also contribute to the educational and clinical activity in the department.
