{"id":12327,"date":"2023-05-22T13:22:48","date_gmt":"2023-05-22T17:22:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/anesthesiology\/?p=12327"},"modified":"2023-05-22T13:22:48","modified_gmt":"2023-05-22T17:22:48","slug":"dr-mohamed-tiouririne-leads-first-annual-maternal-critical-care-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/anesthesiology\/dr-mohamed-tiouririne-leads-first-annual-maternal-critical-care-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Mohamed Tiouririne Leads First Annual Maternal Critical Care Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"WdYUQQ\"> In April, <a href=\"https:\/\/uvahealth.com\/findadoctor\/Mohamed-Tiouririne-1881729358\">Dr. Mohamed Tiouririne<\/a> and colleague, Michelle Dawson, directed the first annual <a href=\"https:\/\/news.med.virginia.edu\/events\/2023-comprehensive-review-in-maternal-critical-care\/\">Maternal Critical Care Conference<\/a> with faculty speakers from the Departments of Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. The goal of the conference was to provide a comprehensive review of maternal critical illness, with topics including maternal morbidity and mortality, common and unique obstetric emergencies, and strategies to build a bridge between labor and delivery and critical care units. Participants also had the opportunity to practice clinical application during case-based teamwork activities. The two-day conference was an enormous success and will undoubtedly inform and advance the care of critically ill pregnant patients in the future.
