If you are the parent of a child who experiences bowel accidents, you are not alone. As many as 7 percent of U.S. children ages six to 12 are affected by a condition known as encopresis, where children over four years old do not have control of their bowels. Lee Ritterband, U.Va. assistant professor of behavioral medicine, says that the Internet can be a useful tool for parents seeking treatment for this condition.
