Together with the Center Director, Cindy is responsible for ensuring sound practices within the Center and is principally responsible for the leadership and oversight of research project management, human resources, research space, development of program curriculum, and program assessment. Cindy serves as a key liaison between the Center and SHUTi for Researchers globally. \u00a0She is responsible for specific planning that employs over 32 faculty, staff, students, and volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>Cindy has spent the past 30 years in various educational, research, management, and education roles. Before coming to UVA, her work experience in education as a Curriculum &amp; Instruction specialist included developing, leading, and guiding evidenced-based and data-driven curriculum and assessments for process improvement and engagement in Science, Math, and English departments. She developed and implemented solutions for school-wide engagement and behaviors using project-based learning models and personalized instruction with technology in schools across Virginia.\u00a0 Cindy initially joined the UVA research team serving as project\/research coordinator to the ARCS project, working specifically with breast cancer survivors dealing with anxiety and depression to improve mental health through an online smartphone app program and coaching.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of the office, she can be found cheering on her daughter at the soccer field, or at Lowe\u2019s planning her next DIY project.
