Center for Brain Immunology and Glia (BIG)
Scientists in UVA’s Brain Immunology and Glia (BIG) Center are at the forefront of neuroimmunology research. The BIG Center is investigating ways to harness the power of the body’s own immune system to help develop new treatments for Multiple Sclerosis, Autism spectrum disorder, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Depression, Stroke and many other illnesses.
Support Our Mission
UVA has significantly invested in the Brain Immunology and Glia (BIG) Center, but additional support from private philanthropy will allow us to move more quickly and enhance the impact of our research.
