BIMS is proud to announce our 2025 Robert R. Wagner Fellowship awardees. These students, listed above, were selected by the Directors of Graduate Studies from a highly competitive pool based on their outstanding performance in graduate school. In addition to a stipend, tuition, fees, and health insurance, all Wagner fellows receive a one-time stipend bonus plus money toward professional development.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am thrilled to announce that, due to the tremendous generosity of Dr. Robert Wagner and his wife Mary, the Wagner Fellowship fund was able to award fellowships to 9 BIMS students this year,\u201d says Janet Cross, PhD, Associate Dean of Graduate and Medical Scientist Programs, Associate Professor of Medical Education and Pathology. \u201cDr. Wagner served as Professor and Chair of Microbiology from 1967-1994 and contributed in so many ways to the School of Medicine, UVA, and the scientific community at large. These fellowships are a lasting tribute to his dedication to student training, his encouragement of young scientists, and his love of UVA.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
