The Medical Center Hour is the School of Medicine’s weekly forum on medicine and society. Produced by the Center for Biomedical Ethics and Humanities in partnership with Historical Collections of the Health Sciences Library, our series includes History of the Health Sciences Lectures.
Medical Center Hour is held on Wednesdays from mid-September through March at midday (12:00-1:00 pm ) in the Pinn Hall Conference Center Auditorium. All programs are free and open to the entire university and the public.
University of Virginia School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. UVA School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. UVA School of Medicine awards 1.0 hour of participation (equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit) to each nonphysician participant who successfully completes this educational activity. UVA School of Medicine maintains a record of participation for 6 years.
University of Virginia School of Nursing Continuing Education is accredited to provide continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. UVA SONCE awards 1.0 contact hour to nurses who participate in this educational activity and complete the post-activity evaluation.
