CBIO Program Welcomes Lecia Robinson, MS, PhD

Headshot of Robinson, LeciaUVACCC welcomes Lecia Robinson, MS, PhD, Assistant Professor of Human Anatomy and Physiology at Tuskegee University, to its Cancer Biology Research Program.

Dr. Robinson’s research focuses on triple-negative breast cancer, the roles of reactive oxygen species and mitochondrial uncoupling proteins. Through her research, Dr. Robinson aims to bring more attention and focus to health disparities affecting African Americans, especially breast cancer diagnosis and treatment disparities faced by many African American women.

She earned her BA in Biology from Talladega College and went on to complete both her MS in Biology and PhD in Environmental Science at Jackson State University. Outside of her academic and research pursuits, Dr. Robinson is married to her college sweetheart and is the proud mother of one daughter. She enjoys traveling and experiencing new cuisines, which she sees as a way to connect with different cultures and perspectives.
