UVACCC Faculty Welcomes James Ross, PhD

Headshot of James Ross, PhDUVACCC welcomes James Ross, PhD, Assistant Professor of Neuroscience, to its Cancer Therapeutics Research Program. Dr. Ross’s research explores systemic anti-tumor immunity in pediatric high-grade glioma to uncover new therapies targeting tumor-associated macrophages and immune-stimulating treatments. His lab studies the tumor microenvironment and key drivers of immune suppression, analyzing patient blood and tumor samples to identify biomarkers of disease status, progression, and therapy response.

Dr. Ross earned his BS in biochemistry and biology from Berry College, his PhD in cancer biology from Emory University under Dr. Dolores Hambardzumyan, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Rafi Ahmed at Emory. Dr. Ross enjoys being active with his family and is a coffee enthusiast.
