UVACCC Research Faculty Welcomes MariCarmen Lafita Navarro, PhD

UVACCC welcomes MariCarmen Lafita Navarro, PhD, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, to the Molecular Genetics and Epigenetics Research Program. Dr. Lafita Navarro studies nutrient sensing and nucleolar pathways that regulate glioblastoma cell growth to identify molecular and metabolic vulnerabilities and discover new therapeutic targets for the disease. She earned her BSc in biology from the University of Barcelona.

Dr. Lafita Navarro earned her MSc in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine, and her PhD in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine from the University of Cantabria. She completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
