UVACCC Welcomes Juan Sebastian Yakisich, MD, PhD

UVACCC welcomes Juan Sebastian Yakisich, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at Hampton University, to its Cancer Biology Research Program.

Dr. Yakisich’s research integrates pharmacology, molecular and cellular biology. He studies the cancer stem cell model and the interconversion model of tumor biology, DNA replication, chemotherapy and the cell cycle, particularly therapeutically induced cellular senescence and cellular plasticity.

Dr. Yakisich earned his MD from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. He earned his PhD from the Karolinska Institute, then completed his postdoctoral training in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Medicine at Texas A&M University.
