recipient of the new UVa Seed Fund, and currently has in Phase I\/II Clinical Trial a novel treatment for \u2018Dry Eye Disease\u2019 based on the National Eye Institute-supported discovery of \u2018lacritin\u2019 in the Laurie lab. \u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/07\/31\/well\/no-crying-over-dry-eyes.html\">A July 31, 2017 NY Times article by Jane Brody on Dry Eye<\/a>\u00a0and a\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newswise.com\/articles\/nei-funded-research-points-to-novel-therapies-for-dry-eye\">National Eye Institute press release<\/a>\u00a0marking
