The University of Virginia School of Medicine maintains a record of participation for six (6) years.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Virginia School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center\u2019s Commission on Accreditation.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Virginia SONCE awards 54 contact hours for nurses who participate in this educational activity and complete the post activity evaluation.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"fontsize13\">\u00a0How to Earn CME Credits, ANCC Contact Hours or Hours of Participation<\/h4>\n<p>To prepare for the book exam each PCEP participant should study the material of each unit and then take the practice unit test for that unit.\u00a0 Practice unit tests can be repeated as many times as desired.\u00a0 No fee is charged for completion of these tests but you must be registered on the website.\u00a0 When ready to take the book exam click on the link to \u2018Book Exam and Certificate\u2019.\u00a0 Participants must pay the $15 fee prior to starting the book exam.<\/p>\n<p>After passing the book exam at a level of 80% correct or greater, PCEP participants must choose to Display Certificate and print it at that time, otherwise they will not have access to their\u00a0certificate at a later point.\u00a0 The certificate lists the number of hours of participation or CME credits earned.<\/p>\n<p>Credit breakdown by PCEP book:<\/p>\n<p>14.5 hours for Book I: Maternal and Fetal Evaluation and Immediate Newborn Care<br \/>\n15.5 hours for Book II: Maternal and Fetal Care<br \/>\n16.5 hours for Book III: Neonatal Care<br \/>\n7.5 hours for Book IV: Specialized Newborn Care<br \/>\n54.0 TOTAL CREDITS<\/p>\n<p>You can access your\u00a0 <strong>educational\u00a0transcript<\/strong> any time of the day or night by clicking the\u00a0<strong>Transcripts<\/strong>\u00a0button and following the instructions.<a href=\"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/cme\/hold-transcripts\/\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It works best on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Firefox and your computer must allow pop-ups for this site. \u00a0Please <strong>do not<\/strong> take these book exams using Safari on MAC O\/S computers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fontsize13\"><strong>Please Note the Following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>CME credits, ANCC contact hours or hours of participation will be granted only for books with a copyright date of 2017.
