Joyce is the Project Manager Scientist within the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Community Outreach and Engagement Team. Joyce holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from UVA and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from King’s College. After transitioning from breast cancer basic research, Joyce has worked in clinical research operations and program management in both the community hospital setting and in the academic medical center setting. Joyce also has experience working with cancer research consortia and managing research collaborations. Joyce serves as liaison to research programs and translational research teams to foster research collaborations and community-focused research projects. During her spare time, Joyce enjoys cooking for her family and spending time with her husband and daughter, especially on a kayak or bike.
