Records and Data Retention and Destruction
The University of Virginia follows the Virginia Public Records Act. The Office of Records Management at the University of Virginia provides guidelines and training for following the requirements and provides assistance with destruction of records that are no longer required.

Electronic data approved for destruction goes to AERC as described on Surplus Property page. You can create your own account for pickup or ask a Local Service Provider.
University Directory information
Everyone is listed in an electronic directory. To see if you are correctly listed, go to www.virginia.edu and enter your computing id (abc1d) or last name, first name (the comma is important) in the Search UVa box (lower right corner) with the People button selected or at http://www.virginia.edu/cgi-local/ldapweb You can change some information there. To change further information, you need to log into the Integrated System Self Service page. Some information can only be changed by HR.
Computer Security Training
Starting January 2012, all staff and faculty need to take Responsible Computing Tutorial for Faculty and Staff annually. After the first notice you see after using NetBadge, you will have two weeks to complete the tutorial.
