Dermatology

Founded in 1924, the University of Virginia Department of Dermatology is the oldest dermatology department in the region. Its mission is to provide the most comprehensive and patient-oriented care, while providing the widest array of clinical services, contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge and educating residents to be the next leaders in our field. Our program also works closely with the UVA GME department and the Housestaff Council for Diversity and Inclusion to promote diversity and inclusion in our trainees. Diversity stands with ethics, integrity, and academic excellence, as a cornerstone of University and Dermatology culture. We believe when people of different backgrounds come together, they exchange ideas, question assumptions (including their own), and broaden the horizons for us all.
