Professional Activities
Andrea is a physician and epidemiologist from Colombia, graduated in 2021, with a true passion for clinical research. In Colombia, she worked on public health and clinical epidemiology projects, contributing to studies and trials focused on improving patient outcomes and quality of life. Those experiences shaped her love for rigorous science and caring for the people behind every study.
She is now starting her career as a Clinical Research Coordinator II at the Center for Diabetes Technology at the University of Virginia. Andrea was drawn to the Center because it allows her to combine her professional passion for research with her personal dedication to healthy living. She is excited to support innovative clinical trials that advance diabetes care and technology.
Andrea is committed to ethical research practices and participant advocacy. She strives to create a welcoming and supportive environment for study participants, empowering them while helping translate scientific discoveries into real-world impact. At UVA, she is thrilled to grow as part of a collaborative research community.
Personal Activities
Outside of work, Andrea enjoys photography, video editing, and creating stories through her lens. She loves staying active, cooking healthy meals, and spending time outdoors. Recently, she has started exploring hiking and loves discovering new trails. Traveling and learning about different cultures continue to inspire her creativity and curiosity.
