Professional Activities:
Mary has spent her clinical career implementing diabetes technology research into clinical practice. She has researched new devices such as continuous glucose monitors and artificial pancreas/hybrid closed loop trials to improve the lives of people with diabetes. She is committed to relieving the burden of living with chronic disease for people with diabetes through the use of technology and education. Mary spent the first 15 years of her nursing career at the Barbara Davis Center at the University of Colorado. She returned to Charlottesville in 2016, joining the University of Virginia Department of Endocrinology and Center for Diabetes Technology.
Personal Activities:
Mary enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and two dogs. They all love to hike and ski and are adjusting to the smaller Blue Ridge mountains. When Mary is not with her family or working, she likely can be found on a tennis court practicing or playing in leagues around Charlottesville.
