By grounding AI in established mathematical principles of how biological systems evolve over time, Dr. Shakeri builds prediction algorithms that respect the underlying physiology of glucose regulation rather than treating it as an abstract pattern-matching problem. His research also establishes rigorous evaluation standards that test AI performance during the high-stakes moments\u2014post-meal spikes, hypoglycemic events\u2014where reliable prediction is essential for patient safety, rather than during the stable periods where any simple method would suffice.
