The UVA Cystic Fibrosis team is a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) accredited program and is participating in multiple charitable activities, QI activities and clinical trials. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. More than 10 million Americans are unknowing, symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene. Cystic Fibrosis requires many people with the disease to spend hours a day on inhaled treatments and take hundreds of pills per week. Nearly every CF drug available today was made possible because of the DF Foundations support. We would love for members of the community to participate, just click on the “Join our Team” button, UVA’s Adult Cystic Fibrosis team, “CF Trailblazers”. From there, you can make a donation and start fundraising, be sure to share via Facebook/LinkedIn. Great Strides is a fun event that provides a fantastic opportunity for family, friends, students, and colleagues to come together to make a difference in the lives of people with CF.
