Okusa, MD, FASN<\/a><\/strong>, as the next ASN President. Dr. Okusa officially assumed his role as ASN president during the society\u2019s annual meeting, ASN Kidney Week 2017 (held Oct. 31st-Nov. 4th in New Orleans), and begins his term on January 1, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Okusa is currently the John C. Buchanan Distinguished Professor of Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, as well as chief of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/nephrology\/\">Division of Nephrology<\/a>\u00a0in the Department of Medicine.
