Colleen Bressler, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine within the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She also has a dual appointment with the Department of Pediatrics and works in child abuse pediatrics.
Dr. Bressler studied medicine at the University of Virginia before completing her pediatric residency at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN. She went on to complete a combined Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Child Abuse Pediatrics fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. Her first faculty appointment was then at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. There she split her time between taking care of children in the pediatric emergency department and seeing vulnerable children as a child abuse consultant and clinic provider. She also served as the fellowship director for Child Abuse Pediatrics.
She is excited to be working back at the University of Virginia, her alma mater.
