Kathleen A. Noorbakhsh, M.D., M.S., is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She serves as the Quality Officer for the Department of Emergency Medicine and as the Interim Medical Director of the Pediatric Emergency Department.

Dr. Noorbakhsh completed fellowship training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medicine Research at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she also earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Eastern Virginia Medical School and her Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary. She is board-certified in both General Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Her academic work focuses on risk stratification and clinical decision-making for children presenting to the emergency department.
