During 18 years <\/span><span data-scheme-color=\"@FFFFFF,0,\" data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">of service in the Department of Emergency Medicine, <\/span><span data-scheme-color=\"@FFFFFF,0,\" data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">including 16 years as Department Chair, <\/span>Dr. Robert O\u2019Connor <span data-scheme-color=\"@FFFFFF,0,\" data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">contributed significantly to the School of Medicine, the <\/span><span data-scheme-color=\"@FFFFFF,0,\" data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">Medical Center, University of Virginia, the community, and the <\/span><span data-scheme-color=\"@FFFFFF,0,\" data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">specialty of Emergency Medicine. He participated in <\/span><span data-scheme-color=\"@FFFFFF,0,\" data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">numerous leadership roles throughout the healthcare system <\/span><span data-scheme-color=\"@FFFFFF,0,\" data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">and directed the clinical design and introduction of an entirely <\/span><span data-scheme-color=\"@FFFFFF,0,\" data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">new Emergency Department (ED).
