Harry Hamilton Gaver Jr. Dr. Saathoff is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine & Public Health Sciences as well as the Co-founder of ParadeRest. He emphasizes that “remembering is active rather than passive” and seeks to raise awareness about the true meaning of Memorial Day. ParadeRest has been actively gathering information, photos, and biographies of local and UVA-connected veterans through an oral history project for the Library of Congress.
