The program complements and builds upon the work being done by department chairs and division chiefs to support the career development and advancement of junior faculty. This program seeks to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>connect junior faculty and mentors in proactive, goal-driven relationships;<\/li>\n<li>facilitate the exploration of early career professional opportunities and mentoring networks;<\/li>\n<li>identify potential areas for early career focus and engagement; and<\/li>\n<li>propel junior faculty\u2019s preparation toward their first promotion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Schedule &amp; Format<\/h3>\n<p>The annual program is held from September-April. Monthly sessions are facilitated by faculty development leaders and other content experts. The eight sessions are divided into four face-to-face 90-minute workshops for dyads and four 60-minute virtual meetings (3 for mentees only; 1 for dyads).<\/p>\n<h3>Expectations<\/h3>\n<p>To participate in the program, junior faculty and their department-assigned mentors must commit to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>attend in-person workshops and participate in virtual meetings (mentees attend all sessions; mentors attend \u201cdyad\u201d sessions only);<\/li>\n<li>complete pre-session and post-session assignments;<\/li>\n<li>meet monthly or \u201cas needed\u201d as a mentoring dyad and document meeting outcomes;<\/li>\n<li>complete monthly check-in survey to track meeting outcomes and deliverables; and<\/li>\n<li>complete pre-program mentoring survey, mid-point evaluation, and final program evaluation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Monthly Theme<\/h3>\n<p>The program will focus on a monthly mentoring topic built around the themes of <strong>Connect<\/strong>, <strong>Explore<\/strong>, <strong>Engage<\/strong>, and <strong>Advance<\/strong>.
