{"id":15821,"date":"2024-02-21T14:57:24","date_gmt":"2024-02-21T14:57:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/faculty-affairs\/?p=15821"},"modified":"2026-05-26T13:49:21","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T13:49:21","slug":"cowims-leadership-development-travel-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/faculty-affairs\/2024\/02\/21\/cowims-leadership-development-travel-award\/","title":{"rendered":"COWIMS: Leadership Development Travel Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Committee on Women in Medicine and Science is thrilled to offer a , in the amount of $1,000, for up to three women faculty who are accepted to participate in the AAMC\u2019s Early-Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar.<\/p>\n<p>Please see the <strong>announcement<\/strong>\u00a0 for details about the seminar and <strong>eligibility <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/web.cvent.com\/event\/96171410-2e98-4bf5-9b4d-173159a41276\/summary\">here<\/a>\u00a0(women faculty with a minimum of two years of experience as an Assistant Professor by <strong>July 2024<\/strong> (hired before July 2022) and less than eight years\u2019 experience in academic medicine and science.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>To apply for this award:<\/u><\/strong> please email a PDF copy of your AAMC Early Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar application and your CV\u00a0<u>at the time of your seminar application<\/u>\u00a0to <a href=\"mailto:ala5t@virginia.edu\">Ashley Ayers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are selected to participate in the seminar and selected to receive the Leadership Development Travel Award, COWIMS requests that you prepare a summary describing what you learned while participating in the Seminar, and present it to the SOM community.
