Research Description
I am an academic internist and clinician researcher dedicated to advancing the care of patients with complex, under-recognized conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) and hypermobility disorders. My work sits at the intersection of clinical medicine, translational research, and systems innovation, with a focus on improving diagnostic accuracy, uncovering underlying mechanisms of disease, and developing personalized multidisciplinary care models.
At the UVA, I am committed to building collaborative research programs that integrate clinical insight with emerging technologies, including data science and artificial intelligence, to better understand disease prevalence, phenotypes, and outcomes. Through this work, I aim to bridge gaps between patient experience and scientific discovery, ultimately translating research into meaningful improvements in function, quality of life, and long-term health.
