Research Description
My research focuses on the development and application of statistical methods for 'omics prediction and 'omics risk score prediction of complex human diseases and traits. My main interests in human disease are chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and interstitial lung disease. Additionally, I am actively working on other research areas including integrative analysis of GWAS with other 'omics (e.g., transcriptome-wide association study TWAS), post-GWAS analyses (e.g., statistical fine-mapping and colocalization), association studies (e.g., GWAS and epigenome-wide association study EWAS), and protein quantitative trait locus (pQTL) mapping study. Most of my published and ongoing works focus on developing and improving resources for diverse ancestry populations.
In addition to research projects, I have been actively engaged in two research communities, the NHLBI Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) program and the Cohorts for Heart and Aging Research in Genomic Epidemiology (CHARGE) Consortium. I am a member of the MESA TOPMed Multi-Omics PrediXcan Working Group, TOPMed Pulmonary Function Population Cohorts Working Group, TOPMed Lung Working Group, MESA TOPMed Lung Working Group, and the TOPMed Multi-Omics Working Group. I am also the co-convenor of MESA TOPMed Multi-Omics PrediXcan Working Group.
