He is an Emeritus member of the Lymphoma Research Foundation\u2019s Scientific Advisory Board and was the inaugural Chair of their Mantle Cell Consortium.  He was awarded the inaugural LRF Mantle Cell Lymphoma Leadership Award in 2021 and honored by establishment of the Dr. Michael Williams Abstract Achievement Award for MCL Research.  &#010;&#010;He is a member of the U.S. Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Lymphoma Core Committee, and of the European Mantle Cell Lymphoma Network.  Dr. Williams is past Chair of the Hematology Subspecialty Board of the American Board of Internal Medicine, a past member of the ABIM Council, and currently serves on ABIM\u2019s Hematology Longitudinal Knowledge Assessment Committee.  He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Oncology and as Associate Editor for Hematologic Malignancies for the NEJM Group Journal Watch Oncology and Hematology.
