I recently graduated from the UVA Family Medicine Residency Program and I am excited about spending another year with the UVA Family Medicine Department.  I am passionate about disease prevention, nutrition and taking a holistic approach to patient care.  I also have a special interest in caring for cancer survivors and cancer prevention.  I completed medical school at Texas A&M College of Medicine after completing a Masters in Public Health at the University of Texas in Houston.  I grew up in Beverly Massachusetts just north of Boston, rowing boats and collecting periwinkles, but now call Charlottesville home.  I spend my free time traveling and I recently hiked part the Camino de Santiago in Spain. I also enjoy gardening, yoga, meditation and reading about the mind-body connection.   I have been deeply inspired by the likes of Joseph Campbell and Jamie Oliver.
