I grew up in Wilson, a small town in Eastern North Carolina. I moved to Chapel Hill for college and stayed for three years afterward doing research.  Those three years were pivotal because it was during that time I realized I wanted medical career to involve teaching and mentorship.   I then headed to Greenville, NC for medical school at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University where I fell in love with full-spectrum Family Medicine.  I also happened to meet my husband, Alex, and we moved to Charlottesville to do our respective residencies at UVA.  We loved the area and its people from our first visit and are excited about being a part of our community and looking forward to learning and growing with our new city and the Shenandoah Valley.  I am thrilled to take part in the Faculty Development Fellowship and hope to hone my skills as a clinician and as an educator while practicing full-spectrum family medicine.
