2016: Melissa Ogden

I grew up all over the place, from Houston to Atlanta to Princeton, NJ. My mom is a pediatric oncologist, my dad is an ex-lawyer turned stay-at-home-dad, and I have two younger brothers. I studied International Health at Georgetown University, and had the opportunity to conduct thesis research abroad in Navrongo, Ghana. My experiences studying public health in Ghana and Washington, DC led me to the Generalist Scholars Program at UVA. When I’m not studying, you can find me experimenting in the kitchen or playing in the Medical Football League. I’m planning to pursue a career in Pediatrics.
