Effective December 1, 2016, the Department of Labor is raising the minimum salary threshold to qualify for exempt status from $23,660 to $47,476. This change will impact an estimated 161 research associates and 22 research scientists who earn less than the new minimum of $47,476. If you have not already done so, please work with your faculty to ensure that this new minimum threshold is built into future grant proposals.
