Grants Administration Team

The SOM OGC Grants Administration Team supports the research enterprise of the School of Medicine through the preparation, submission, and administration of externally-sponsored research proposals, awards, and other sponsored projects.  The team is responsible for pre- and post-award non-financial accounting research administration functions for the school.

How are we different from the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP)?

Only OSP can execute legally-binding agreements with outside entities, therefore all research agreements, including subaward agreements, for the School of Medicine are negotiated and executed by OSP.  In addition, OSP maintains all functions related to internal account creation and management within Oracle, including rebudgeting, revision of project/award period dates, change of investigator, etc. OSP also oversees the financial management and accounting of externally-sponsored funds and works closely with business office, school, and departmental staff and faculty to ensure financial compliance and proper reporting of these funds.
