Health System Email

The health system maintains a secure email system that is administered by Health System Technology Services (HIT) for students at the School of Medicine that includes an email address (<userid> You have this email account so that you can send and receive email containing patient information in a secure manner that is compliant with the relevant legislation and policies for Protected Health Information (PHI) and Individually Identifiable Health Information (IIHI).

HSC Email on your personal laptop

Outlook Web Access in most modern browsers at

Note: You can still view attachments, but downloading them from the web client is prohibited.

Some students have had success using Outlook installed on their own laptops. A few students have had success using the Mac Mail client. A health system VPN is required for Outlook on Windows.

HSC email on mobile devices

Your first option is to use your internet browser and Outlook Web Access –

To use the native email client on your mobile device, you should install a mobile device manager called “MobileIron”. Here is a page for getting started with MobileIron.
