The WiFi networks on grounds require that your devices have an updated, supported operating system<\/strong> (specifically within two versions of the current release). Please keep your devices up-to-date.<\/p>\n

Academic Buildings – Medical Education Building, Pinn Hall, MR5, Health Sciences Library<\/h4>\n

The encrypted eduroam<\/strong><\/em> network is your best option. It requires a digital certificate to connect and here are the instructions for connecting to eduroam<\/a>. Digital certificates expire after approximately 14 months; so, you will have to repeat this process at that time. If you have difficulty connecting to the eduroam network, you can try the unencrypted WiFi network called Wahoo<\/em><\/strong>. See the instructions for connecting to Wahoo<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n

Hospital\/Clinical Buildings<\/a><\/h4>\n

Connect to the hscs-wireless<\/strong><\/em> network. It requires your health system (HIT) credentials aka uvahealth.org – userid (just the part before the @ in your email) & password.<\/p>\n

Eduroam from other Participating Institutions<\/h4>\n

UVA is a member of e<\/strong>duroam<\/strong><\/em>, a global wifi network standard for academic institutions. If you came from another participating institution, your device may automatically connect. However, you will be treated as on a “guest” network, so students should not use it. Please contact MedEd Support and we will help you remove the previous institution’s wifi and properly sign up for UVA’s eduroam wifi.<\/p>\n

Other Networks<\/h4>\n

The UVA WiFi Setup<\/em><\/strong> network is used solely for configuring your device for eduroam connectivity. Avoid the guest WiFi networks (UVA Guest<\/em><\/strong>, uvahealth-guest<\/strong><\/em>, etc.) when consistent, reliable network connectivity is needed. You will be unable to connect to some UVA systems (VMED and Oasis) from the guest WiFi networks.<\/p>\n
