You can install it on smartphones and tablets to make it easier to access UVA Health resources (primarily @uvahealth.org email, EPIC, PACS, and Vocera). We do NOT recommend installing Ivanti on your Apple MacOS laptop.<\/div>\n<h4>Caveats<\/h4>\n<div>Using Ivanti does adjust some security settings and imposes constraints on your phone\/tablet that you should be aware of:<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Ivanti requires that you change your device passcode every 60 days.<\/li>\n<li>Ivanti encrypts UVA Health data on your device .<\/li>\n<li>Ivanti Device Manager allows UVA Health IT to purge your device of health system\/medical center data (not your personal data, contacts, etc.) in the case of the loss or theft of a device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>More information (including some benefits) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/hit.healthsystem.virginia.edu\/departments\/mobile-device-technologies\/what-is-mobileiron-how-does-uva-health-use-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Many students wait until the pre-clerkship curriculum to install Ivanti on their phones when the increased volume of health system email justifies the inconvenience of 60 day passcode changes (1st caveat above).
