You can <strong>NOT<\/strong>\u00a0automate email forwarding.<\/i><\/li>\n<li><em>When using the Outlook web client\/browser, you can<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong><em>view attachments<\/em><\/strong><em>, but you are\u00a0<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong><em>prohibited from downloading attachments <\/em><em>***<\/em><\/strong><em>.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Logging into or switching between the Academic and UVA Health instances of your email in the same browser session often trips error messages. We recommend using different browser sessions to access the Outlook web client email accounts simultaneously on your computer.<\/p>\n<p>Using the Outlook web client in a browser on your mobile device has the same limitations as listed above. To get a fully functional email client on your mobile device, UVA Health System policy requires:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Microsoft Outlook app<\/li>\n<li>The mobile device manager called \u201cIvanti Go&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Installing Ivanti has some caveats that you should consider. More information on the <a href=\"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/med-ed-tech\/support-for-students\/general-tech\/mobileiron\/\">Med Ed Technology website<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Should you choose to proceed, here are the instructions for installing the <a href=\"https:\/\/hit.healthsystem.virginia.edu\/departments\/mobile-device-technologies\/related-content\/outlook-365-on-iosipados2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft Outlook app on your device.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Need help with health system email?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Phone: 434-924-5334<\/li>\n<li>URL: <a href=\"https:\/\/hit.healthsystem.virginia.edu\/help-desk\/\">https:\/\/hit.healthsystem.virginia.edu\/help-desk\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Using email clients other than the Outlook web client<\/h1>\n<p>If you prefer a locally installed email application, Microsoft Outlook is the only supported email application and you can configure Outlook to access both your academic and UVA Health email accounts. Using Microsoft Outlook will allow you to overcome the security restriction for downloading attachments from your UVA Health email account. You can download Microsoft Outlook software from the <a href=\"https:\/\/m365.cloud.microsoft\/apps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft Office 365 website<\/a>. \u00a0When configuring Microsoft Outlook to access your UVA Health email account, connect to the hscs-wireless WiFi network. To access your UVA Health email using the desktop app from home or on academic networks you will need to run the <a href=\"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/med-ed-tech\/support-for-students\/general-tech\/virtual-private-network-vpn-devices\/#health\">Health System VPN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h1>Recommendation for email access<\/h1>\n<p>The Outlook web client is used most often for academic email. Most pre-clerkship students use the Outlook web client to check their UVA Health email daily. During the clerkship and post-clerkship phases, many students choose to install the Microsoft Outlook app and Ivanti Go mobile device manager on their mobile devices to manage the higher volume of UVA Health email when on clinical rotations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Academic &#8211; @virginia.edu Your email address for this account is &lt;userid&gt;@virginia.edu.
