(1) Activate your UVA computing ID<\/h4>\n

You will need your computing id and activation code which should have come to you in an email similar to this<\/a>. With the computing id and activation code, you can activate your computing id using the Identity and Access Mgmt Portal’s activation screen<\/a>. Should you need them – Instructions for activating your computing id<\/a>.<\/p>\n

(2) Setup of DUO for 2-factor authentication<\/h4>\n

The installation and setup of DUO is part of step #1 above; but, if you need to adjust the devices for your 2nd factor of authentication you do so on the Duo Security tab in the Identity Management Portal<\/a>.\u00a0 Detailed instructions for updating devices for DUO<\/a><\/p>\n

(3) EPA assessment requests from students – adjusting your learn.med profile to ensure delivery of notifications<\/h4>\n

Most faculty will specify an email address and\/or phone number capable of texting for being notified that a student has requested an EPA assessment. From the VMed documentation library, this is the How to document for managing communication preferences<\/a>.<\/p>\n

(4) Oasis<\/h4>\n

The School of Medicine uses Oasis for evaluations and managing student enrollment in courses\/clerkship rotations. Most users access Oasis via email notifications for evaluations. For more features, you can login to Oasis<\/a>\u00a0and select “Login with UVA NetBadge”.<\/p>\n

(5) Email – (optional)<\/h4>\n

Most Inova faculty have NOT been given a UVA email mailbox (<computing id>@virginia.edu); but choose to use an existing email account for their UVA School of Medicine communication. If you want to ensure that email from all UVA information systems is delivered, you can register your preferred email account (typically @inova.org) as a deliverable address in the Email Address Management System<\/a> using these instructions for the Email Address Mgmt. System<\/a>. Should you find that the number of UVA emails is excessive, it is easy to undo\/reverse the change by removing the deliverable address.<\/p>\n

Learning Management System is VMed<\/h4>\n

You can access most of the content for the M.D. curriculum in learn.med aka VMed system<\/a> . Most of our applications use a single sign-on system called UVA Netbadge so, \u00a0you should only need to remember a single set of credentials – UVA computing id and password.<\/p>\n

Microsoft Teams?<\/h4>\n

We do use Microsoft Teams to collaborate. At this time, faculty and staff from Inova will rely on guest access (typically via an email address) to access UVA’s Teams environment. Please check with the owner of the team to ensure that you have been added to the team with the correct email address\/account and then access here – https:\/\/teams.microsoft.com<\/a> .<\/p>\n

The School of Medicine does have a small IT department, Medical Education Technology, to assist faculty and students.
