(1) Activating your UVA computing ID<\/h4>\n

Detailed instructions are here – https:\/\/in.virginia.edu\/account-guide<\/a>\u00a0. Your computing id and activation code should have come to you via email similar to <this<\/a>>. Using the computing id and activation code from the email, you can activate your computing id here – https:\/\/in.virginia.edu\/activate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

(2) Setup of DUO for 2-factor authentication<\/h4>\n

The installation and setup of DUO is part of step #1 above; but, if you need to adjust the devices for your 2nd factor of authentication you do so on the “Duo Security” tab in the Identity Management Portal \u00a0here –\u00a0https:\/\/in.virginia.edu\/2step<\/a>. (3) Adjust your learn.med profile to\u00a0ensure delivery of notifications – especially if doing EPA assessment requests<\/h4>\n

An email address is the minimum. If provided, the phone number is NOT displayed or made available to students.<\/p>\n

(4) Oasis<\/h4>\n

The School of Medicine uses Oasis for evaluations and managing student enrollment in courses-clerkships-rotations. Most users access Oasis via email notifications for evaluations. For more Oasis features, go to\u00a0https:\/\/oasis.med.virginia.edu<\/a>\u00a0and select “Login with UVA NetBadge”.<\/p>\n

(5) Email – ensure that email from UVA is delivered to your preferred address<\/h4>\n

Most remote faculty have NOT been given a UVA email mailbox (<computing id>@virginia.edu); but choose to use an existing email account (typically your work email, perhaps a designated gmail account) for their UVA School of Medicine business. You need to register this email account with UVA’s email address management system to ensure that email coming from UVA information systems will be delivered to you. For example, the annual notification for an expiring password is an example of a UVA email that you will likely want to have sent to your preferred address.<\/p>\n
