Phones and tablets are ok for simple quizzes (in-class, attendance), but lack the screen real estate necessary to display questions with images and long text narratives. Best to use your laptop when taking higher stake\/summative exams.<\/p>\n<h4>Two short videos on Online Testing<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/vmed.hosted.panopto.com\/Panopto\/Pages\/Viewer.aspx?id=b86028b9-cf63-435e-9e44-b1b9012d3d08\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">introduction video<\/a> including exam feedback and exam locations runs for about 3 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/vmed.hosted.panopto.com\/Panopto\/Pages\/Viewer.aspx?id=234bdeef-0e42-4f8e-aaab-b1be010b8b21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exam challenges video<\/a> shows you how to challenge exam questions on summative exams in less than 90 seconds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>You will avoid many problems when taking an exam if you<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Reboot your computer before you start the exam<\/li>\n<li>Keep open applications to a minimum (just your web browser, the fewer open browser tabs the better)<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you have a reliable internet connection<\/li>\n<li>Have your phone charged and\/or DUO backup codes ready for two factor authentication when you login to start<\/li>\n<li>Do NOT wait until 12:58pm on Sunday to login &amp; open an exam with a schedule that closes at 1:00pm. Stuff happens!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Weekend Exam Support?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes. Med Ed Technology is online to support you on the weekend. Here is how it works &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/med-ed-tech\/support-for-students\/applications\/online-testing\/weekend-exam-support\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Weekend exam support<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Location services should be enabled for exams with a Location requirement<\/h4>\n<p>Access to some exams are restricted\/can only be taken while in particular buildings on-grounds and we enforce this using geolocation as reported by your computing device.
