Medical Scientist Training Program (MTSP) graduates receive the combined M.D.-Ph.D. degree.\u00a0<\/span>UVA\u2019s faculty and students are committed to \u00a0research, dedicated to excellence in an inclusive and diverse environment, and devoted to education. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Admissions<\/h3>\n

Thank you for your interest in the Medical Scientist Training Program!\u00a0For a detailed timeline of the admissions cycle, please review the School of Medicine’s\u00a0admissions calendar<\/a><\/strong>. Applicants are encouraged to apply early as we are rolling admissions; and, the majority of interviews will take place prior to Winter Break.<\/p>\n

NOTE: Your application may appear incomplete in our system. Your application is handled individually and reviewed carefully for completeness. This can take up to 5-7 business days. Thank you for your patience.<\/em><\/p>\n

Please review the following information regarding the application process for admission to the MSTP.<\/p>\n

How to Apply<\/h4>\n

Applicants are encouraged to apply\u00a0by December 15<\/strong>. You should apply and submit letters of recommendation\u00a0to the\u00a0University of Virginia School of Medicine<\/a><\/span>\u00a0through the\u00a0American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS)<\/span><\/a>. Once the School of Medicine’s Office of Admissions has received verification of your application, you will be prompted to complete the MD\/PhD Supplemental Application. The MSTP will not consider your application until both portions are complete.<\/p>\n
