Igor Smirnov, DVM
I am an Assistant Professor of Research in the Kipnis Lab. I specialize in laboratory animal surgeries and animal models, in particular in models of CNS injury and degenerative disease of the nervous system. My current project is focused on the role of peripheral and central immunity in neuroprotection following CNS trauma. I also perform animal models surgeries for ongoing collaborative projects in the BIG Center and other laboratories on the Grounds, train students, and postdocs, and oversee our large mice colony.
