Igor Smirnov, DVM

I am an Assistant Professor of Research in the Kipnis Lab.  I hold a degree of DVM and have over ten years experience with rodent surgeries and in particular with animal models of CNS injuries in both academia and industry.  My current project is focused around the role of peripheral and central immunity in neuroprotection following CNS trauma.  I also perform animal models surgeries for ongoing projects in the BIG Center laboratories and oversee our large mice colony.
