Medical Student Research Symposium

Tuesday, November 5, 2019
Pinn Hall Lobby (1st floor, JPA side)
11:45 am – 2:30pm

The School of Medicine Office for Research invites interested students, faculty, and community members to attend this important event.

The fall symposium showcases research performed by medical students, providing an avenue to: present and discuss work among peers; inform medical students about research opportunities at the University of Virginia School of Medicine; and provide a medium for faculty, students, and members of the general community to interact informally and discuss current or future UVA research projects.

Schedule of Events

  • Late morning through noon:  Poster set-up.  Poster boards and T-pins will be available by 9:00 AM.
  • 11:45 AM – 12:30 PM:  Lunch
  • 12:30 – 2:30 PM:  Poster session.

Posters that remain at 2:30 PM will be stored for pick-up in the Office for Research (McKim 3026).

Preparation of posters.  Please do not make a poster until your abstract has been accepted by the Office for Research.  In order to ensure proper egress from Pinn Hall in case of an emergency, we rotate our tableau poster boards vertically (i.e., 8′ tall and 4′ wide).  Posters should respect the 4′ limit so they do not extend into areas of egress.

Questions concerning this event.  Please contact Ms. Joyce Fortune or Dr. David Driscoll.  We look forward to seeing you as a presenter or attendee in November.
