In June 2025, we celebrated the graduation of our residents and fellows and marked the beginning of their next chapters. Each of them contributed greatly to our department through their patient care, teaching, and scholarship. We are proud of their accomplishments and excited to see the impact they will make in their new roles.

- Next Step: Joining previous UVA Ophthalmology graduate Dr. Kevin Gamett at Silver State Ophthalmology in Reno, Nevada, focusing on comprehensive eye care and cataract surgery.
Noreen Z. Khan, MD

- Next Step: Remaining at UVA to continue her training as a glaucoma fellow.

- Next Step: Returning to Knoxville, Tennessee to practice comprehensive eye care at Woolfson Eye Institute.

- Optometry Resident 2024–2025
- Next Step: Joining University Hospitals Department of Ophthalmology in Cleveland, Ohio, as part of the adult optometry and contact lens service, with a faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
