Program Overview<\/h4>\n

This post-residency fellowship emphasizes gynecologic pathology in the context of general surgical pathology.\u00a0 This one year experience will provide in-depth exposure to consultation, referral and routine diagnostic material.\u00a0 In addition, the fellow will actively participate in clinical conferences, teach residents and be expected to participate in ongoing translational research utilizing the outstanding faculty and resources of the University of Virginia.<\/p>\n

Fellowship Requirements<\/h4>\n

Applicants should be Board certified or eligible in AP or AP\/CP.<\/p>\n

Facilities<\/h4>\n

The Department of Pathology provides an extensive training resource based on annual accessions (including extramural consultations) of over 30,000 surgicals and over 25,000 cytologies, including approximately 1,200 fine needle aspirations.\u00a0 More than 5,000 surgical specimens are in the area of gynecologic pathology.\u00a0 Excellent intradepartmental laboratories including immuno-histochemistry, molecular biology, tissue procurement and others provide all the necessary support for research productivity.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Commensurate with the applicant’s postgraduate training in pathology.<\/p>\n

Interested candidates should submit the Fellowship Application<\/a>, current CV, 3 letters of recommendation, personal statement, medical school transcript, and a copy of the USMLE transcript. Electronic submission is preferred. Applications will be accepted starting July 1st, twenty-four months prior to the start date, and positions will remain open until filled.
